This presentation will showcase the work of students in the Digital II Photography class. I will talk about the two assignments that generated the work: Organic Synthesis of forms and Appropriation and Transformation. In both of these assignments I am interested in getting the students to consider incorporating ideas about science in their work. They are encouraged to use biological forms as a basis for creating pattern, form, texture and color as well as other materials such as charts, graphs, diagrams, etc. that reference the sciences of astronomy, cartography, genetics and engineering.
